Leek and Rice Olive Oil Dish (Turkish)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch leek, cleaned well, and sliced
  • 3 carrots, grated
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Combine leek, carrot, water, and olive oil in a saucepan.
  2. Cook until boil, and lower heat. Cook for 45 minutes.
  3. Add in rice, sugar, salt, and lemon juice and cook for another 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  4. Serve cold or room temperature.
